FOUNDER AND CEO OF BOOM

Dawn Farrow, founder and CEO of Boom ENTS and Boom SPORT, is a performance marketing specialist for some of the best known entertainment brands and live events and experiences in the U.K. 

She founded Boom in 2012 to become the first female agency CEO servicing not just theatre but also outdoor events and festivals, family theatre, immersive entertainment, consumer exhibitions, venues, visitor attractions and celebrity social media. In 2018 she launched Boom SPORT to progress her passion for effective ways to sell tickets through smart campaign planning, and to capitalise on the growth of the live sports event market. 

Dawn’s success has been recognised by a series of high profile organisations. In 2016 she was recognised in the Women In Marketing Awards as the runner up in ‘Best Leader in Marketing’ and in 2014 was shortlisted in the top 50 of Management Today’s ‘Top 35 Women in Business under 35.’ The business was awarded ‘Best New Business’, in the Top 100 UK Start Up Awards in 2015 and was shortlisted in the top 6 ‘Best Small Agencies’ in the 2016 UK Agency Awards. 

Before launching Boom, Dawn’s marketing career began at Clear Channel Entertainment, working on the European tours of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats and Starlight Express. She then moved to media agency AKA where she formed a new division tasked with non-traditional theatre productions which led her to work on international tours with brands such as Warner Brothers’ Batman and the arena spectacular, Walking with Dinosaurs. 

Boom’s success has driven audiences of millions to more than 170 live events as diverse as The Luna Cinema, Grand Designs Live, BBC Countryfile Live, Dinner at the Twits, Monty Python’s Spamalot, The Mousetrap, Disney’s Fantasia, an audience with John Travolta and the smash-hit immersive experience Alice’s Adventures Underground.

BUSINESS GROWTH PARTNER
Sophie works with Dawn to support her ambitious plans for the business, its clients and team, and to collaborate with her on strategies to achieve Boom’s long-term vision.

Sophie is co-founder of online marketplace notonthehighstreet.com, and a strategic director, advisor and partner for a number of fast-growth UK businesses in the creative, digital and retail sectors. She is a partner and director of Busby & Fox; and she is a director and advisor at Doodle Productions, producers of the BBC CBeebies series Messy Goes to Okido.

Sophie has co-authored two bestselling books: Build A Business From Your Kitchen Table, 2012, and Shape Up Your Business, 2014. She was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s 2013 Birthday Honours.

ANDREW SLATER

CLIENT SERVICES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Andrew is Client Services and Business Development Director, and joined Boom in 2018, having previously worked as our client when Head of Marketing at Really Useful Theatres (now LW Theatres).

His role requires close alignment with both Dawn and the rest of the team as he continues Boom’s growth, both in terms of commerciality and performance marketing experience, across the entertainment and sports businesses.

With a sports marketing background, one of the main projects Andrew has been working on since joining Boom is the creation and growth of Boom SPORT.

“I love being part of such a passionate and dedicated team, who strive for the best possible outcome for their clients. The implementation of test and learn strategies since my arrival has been showing great rewards, and is something we will be doing more and more of to ensure we’re doing the right thing on behalf of our clients and their customers.”

Before joining Boom, Andrew worked in senior marketing positions across a range of sectors including the Rugby Football Union, swimwear brand Zoggs, Mike Burton Hospitality, Lions and England Rugby Travel, British & Irish Lions on-tour events, NOW TV Sports, Sky and BIKE Channel, before transferring these skills and experiences into the theatre environment.

ROWENA PECK

CAMPAIGN DIRECTOR

Rowena is Campaign Director, and joined Boom in 2013, following a previous role at Global Radio working across the UK’s best loved radio stations including Heart, Capital and Radio X – securing promotions and sponsorships with top brands such as Sonos, Red Bull, British Airways and X Box.

Her role at Boom consists of building bespoke marketing strategies for live entertainment and working with the client services team to implement results driven and innovative campaigns. Winning best marketing campaign at the Theatre and Technology awards for the immersive theatrical show Alice’s Adventures Underground, and leading on the UK’s number one open air cinema, The Luna Cinema for the 5th year, to name a few, her expertise and knowledge of selling tickets for various live events is valuable to all clients and brands.

The team are ballsy and driven, and are not afraid of being creative and bold on campaigns. As the digital landscape is constantly evolving, we pride ourselves in keeping up to speed on ‘hot off the press’ news and media in order to include and deliver fresh activity for our clients.
